Building Bridges: Community Snack Shack at Laude San Pedro

01-12-2023

What better way to build relationships across parents, staff, and sixth form students than through great coffee, healthy smoothies, and tasty snacks from a community coffee truck?

As part of the finishing touches to our new dining area at Laude San Pedro, we have been delighted to welcome our Snack Shack. After searching for suitable providers, a community caterer called Bloxfoods, who had already successfully catered our summer school menu, was selected to serve our community delicious drinks and snacks from an antique, classic coffee van — purchased in Seville but originally from Paris.

Serving sustainable and healthy snacks throughout the day to parents, senior students, and staff on our outdoor terrace has brought great joy to the Laude community. Top‑notch cappuccinos have replaced poor machine coffee, and blueberry pancakes keep our sixth formers energised and focused throughout the school day.

Parents are now able to stop by for a drink with friends at drop‑off and pick‑up times, and the initiative is really taking off. There is a growing sense of community on our new outdoor decking, and even as the weather gets a little cooler, who doesn’t enjoy a hot chocolate as Christmas approaches?

The owner of Bloxfoods, Jo, has even enrolled her son at Laude following her experience working with us, truly making her part of the Laude family.
