Speaking with greater confidence

I met incredible people, made new friends, and gained confidence

A few months ago, I was selected by my school to take part in an ISP TEDx event, where I had the opportunity to deliver a speech in front of a large audience. The chosen topic was “Where Confidence Grows”, and I decided to focus on how stepping outside our comfort zone can help build self‑confidence.

After a long preparation process, supported by Mr Barnett, Mr Banks and Ms Leesley, and several rehearsal sessions in front of Year 7, Year 8, Bach 1 and Year 12 students, I finalised my speech. On 27 February, I arrived at El Altillo, the ISP school hosting the event. There, I met the other speakers and took part in a range of enjoyable team‑building activities.

The following day, my group and I explored the city and experienced the local culture, which made the experience even more memorable. On the final day, it was time to deliver my speech. Standing on stage and sharing my ideas was both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Overall, the experience was unforgettable. I met many inspiring people, made new friends, and gained confidence in myself. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank Laude San Pedro and ISP for allowing me to take part in such an enriching adventure.
